Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they announced in a release.
Police report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the form of a swastika, they stated.
Law enforcement then located numerous other smeared vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests show the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; investigators are not yet aware of any injuries in connection with the event," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to resolve the case" and have asked to the community for information.
An important official commented the attack made him without words and required to be solved quickly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine victims by a shooter focusing on residents of migrant background in February 2020.
